Music legend Rod Stewart, 80, brought London’s Bond Street to a standstill this week as hundreds of shoppers and fans gathered, hoping to catch a glimpse of the rocker during a festive Christmas shopping spree.

Crowds reportedly blocked parts of the street as Rod moved between luxury boutiques, smiling, waving and soaking up the attention from his loyal admirers.

Rod and wife Penny Lancaster, 54, were spotted shopping separately before later meeting up at Dolce & Gabbana. Penny was first seen outside Celine and Loewe, where the couple’s two cars were parked, before heading into Ralph Lauren with her son Aiden and a woman believed to be his nanny.

Meanwhile, Rod was seen browsing at Etro alongside a woman thought to be his personal assistant, later leaving the store with purchases carried in an Etro bag.

The couple reunited at Dolce & Gabbana, where a sizeable crowd quickly formed to spot the rock icon. Rod cut a stylish figure in a matching patterned jacket and tight leggings, accessorised with a large gold crucifix that caught Penny’s eye as she stopped to take a closer look.

Penny, meanwhile, kept things chic in a designer faux-fur jacket. Ever the showman, Rod made time for his fans — waving, smiling and even flashing a thumbs-up — proving that, decades on, he still knows how to steal the spotlight.
