Ruth Langsford has officially removed her wedding ring — a significant moment that comes nearly a year after her split from husband Eamonn Holmes.

The former TV power couple shocked fans with their joint announcement on May 25, 2024, confirming the end of their 14-year marriage. Since then, Ruth had continued to wear both her wedding and engagement rings, once even telling a fan, “I’m still married.” But that changed during Monday’s episode of her ITV show Loose Women, where viewers noticed her rings were gone.
Eamonn, however, stopped wearing his wedding ring months ago after beginning a new relationship with 43-year-old Katie Alexander. Katie, a marriage counsellor, originally supported Eamonn through his breakup. According to her friends, their connection only turned romantic after the marriage ended.
Meanwhile, Ruth seems to be thriving on her own — she recently celebrated her 65th birthday with a girls’ getaway, embracing single life.

As for Eamonn, things may not be going as smoothly. The Mail on Sunday reports that his relationship with Katie has hit a snag: she’s refusing to move in with him. Katie has chosen to stay in her hometown of Yorkshire, where she co-parents her two teenage children with her ex-husband. She also has a 22-year-old son from another relationship.

This decision means she won’t be relocating to Eamonn’s penthouse flat in Kingston, southwest London, where he moved after leaving the marital home.
A source close to Katie revealed, “There’s no way she’ll move in with Eamonn in the near future — or even for many years. Her children come first, and they’ve felt uneasy seeing the relationship play out so publicly. She doesn’t want to uproot them.”
Despite this, Katie’s children have met Eamonn and reportedly get along well with him. But for now, things will remain as they are.
The source added, “Eamonn seems lonely since splitting with Ruth — it’s not exactly ideal for him.”
The couple’s split came after Ruth reportedly discovered that Eamonn had been having “intimate chats” with another woman. According to The Sun, Ruth overheard Eamonn on a phone call while he thought he was alone in their Surrey home. The situation escalated when she later found incriminating messages on his laptop.
An insider shared, “It was a huge shock for Ruth. She had devoted herself to caring for Eamonn during his health struggles. Finding out he was speaking so intimately with another woman was devastating.”
Although the marriage continued for a few weeks after the initial confrontation, the laptop discovery is said to have been “the final straw.”
Their official split was announced in a brief joint statement: “Ruth Langsford and Eamonn Holmes have confirmed their marriage is over and they are in the process of divorcing.”
As the divorce proceedings reportedly become more complicated, Eamonn’s new relationship is also facing unexpected challenges, leaving fans wondering what lies ahead for the once-solid TV couple.
