AMANDA HOLDEN has opened about regrets from her first marriage to Les Dennis in an emotional chat about love with her best pal Alan Carr.
The pair got married in 1995 before separating in 2002 and divorcing the following year.
Opening up on the latest episode of their BBC One travel series, Amanda & Alan’s Greek Job, the 54-year-old expressed: “I mean, obviously we’ve both been through a divorce, we’ve both made mistakes and as much as I regret hurting people maybe, or causing chaos, it shapes you to who you are in this moment.
“And I think life is too short to have regrets.”
Sharing his own regrets, Alan admitted: “I mean it’s not decisions for me but knowing your worth and the amount of times I’ve been walked over and people have demeaned me.”
Amanda interjected: “You are soft, you’re so lovely as he continued: “There’s time that I’d wished I’d said no, I wish I’d been a bit bolder and a bit stronger.”
The Britain’s Got Talent judge expressed: “After a divorce, what you do think is that you are never gonna find love again.
“Do you sort of trust yourself to fall in love and make a good decision about somebody for the rest of your life?”
The Celebrity Traitors winner responded: “Yeah, it’d be nice wouldn’t it? I don’t really trust anyone really, that’s the trouble. I think that is my main thing.”
“What do you think I’m going to do to you?,” Amanda asked as Alan reassured: “I trust you and maybe my mum and dad and my family.
“But yeah, it’s just getting out there and trusting isn’t it?”
Amanda and Les enjoyed a whirlwind relationship before tying the knot back in 1995.

However, their seven-year marriage ended at the end of 2002, two years after it became public knowledge she had been having an affair with co-star Neil Morrissey.
Amanda previously called the fallout from her affair with Neil the darkest time of her life.
She told the Mail: “I brought it on myself, I appreciate that, but nothing will ever be as bad again. It was a very dark time. It got to the point where I felt I could hardly breathe.
“Les proved to be my saviour. Ironically. So the person I’d hurt the most in the world was the one who was there for me.”
Since her split from Les, Amanda found love with husband Chris Hughes, and the couple have been married since 2008.
Together the pair have two daughters – Lexi, born in 2006, and Hollie, born in 2012.
Meanwhile, Alan was in a 14-year relationship with his now ex-husband Paul Drayton.
After ten years together they got married in 2018, with singer Adele officiating the ceremony at her Los Angeles mansion.
They raised animals together at a farm they bought in West Sussex.
However, the relationship cracked under the strain of lockdown and they divorced in 2022.
