SHOCK DETAIL: Waitress Linked to Swiss Resort Fire Among 40 Who Died CQ1😱

A waitress filmed wearing a crash helmet and carrying the sparklers that allegedly started the fatal Swiss nightclub fire was among those who perished.

Cyane Panine, 24, was one of 40 people who died in the New Year’s Eve inferno, and has now been revealed as the woman wearing the helmet in footage taken moments before the fire ensued, according to 20minuten.

Photos and videos show the young woman sitting on a colleague’s shoulders holding two champagne bottles with sparklers attached, before the ceiling catches fire.

The owners of Swiss bar Le Constellation in Crans-Montana recounted last week how Cyane, who they viewed as ‘a stepdaughter’ suffocated ‘in a pile of bodies behind a locked door’.

According to interrogation transcripts seen by Swiss newspaper Tages-Anzeiger, the owners clearly identified the deceased 24-year-old in photos taken during the incident.

Providing a detailed account of the disaster, Jacques and Jessica Moretti said Cyane Panine’s last minutes alive encapsulated the full horror of the evening.

Cyane had been encouraged by Ms Moretti, 40, to ‘get the atmosphere going’ at Le Constellation, in the Alpine ski resort of Crans-Montana, in the early hours of January

This included getting waitresses to put sparklers in champagne bottles, before some were lifted up on the shoulders of waiters in the bar’s basement.
