“I was initially treated and discharged, but on my way back to Scotland it started again, much heavier. I was taken to Warrington Hospital, where doctors discovered a damaged artery.
”After more than 24 hours in A&E and significant blood loss, I was taken into surgery. During the operation, I aspirated blood and became critically ill, leading to me being placed in an induced coma in intensive care.
“Thankfully, I woke up yesterday. I’m still very weak, but I’m in good hands and hoping to recover fully soon. Being able to hug my family again means everything.
”I can’t thank the incredible staff at Warrington Hospital enough for saving my life, and I’m so grateful for all your messages and support.”
