Hammond, 50, who once weighed 28 stone at her heaviest, embarked on her health overhaul following the death of her mother, Maria, in 2020 from lung and liver cancer. Maria’s concerns about Alison’s pre-diabetic condition, compounded by her own battle with type 2 diabetes, served as a wake-up call. “My mum had type 2 diabetes and she was worried for me, so when I then found out that I was pre-diabetic, that was frightening,” Hammond told Good Housekeeping UK. “I thought: ‘I have to be an adult about this.’ The sweets had to stop—and the fatty foods.”

Her day begins early, a habit she maintains regardless of her work schedule or late nights. “I get up early no matter if I have work the next day or if I’ve gone to bed late the previous evening,” she revealed to The Sunday Times. To kickstart her mornings, Hammond opts for an immunity-boosting ginger shot, followed by a hearty Full English breakfast. This classic meal, featuring eggs, bacon, and sausages, is shared with her son, Aiden, showcasing her refusal to abandon favorite foods. “I don’t deny myself anything, I eat everything, but in moderation,” she emphasized, a philosophy that has become central to her success.
