FOX SPORTS have signed a former CBS late night host and a Premier League legend for their new dedicated World Cup show.
The soccer World Cup is just over a month away and the excitement for the tournament is slowly building.
Fox owns the full rights to televise the World Cup across the United States and will show a record 70 matches on network television.
Aiming to capitalize on the soccer audience keen for more after the day of games, they have created the ‘FIFA World Cup on FOX After Hours’ show.
Specifically, that is the ‘FIFA World Cup on FOX After Hours with James Corden’, Premier League legend Rio Ferdinand and also Ian Karmel.
Corden has not featured on a late night TV gig since 2023 when he left behind CBS’ Late, Late Show after eight years in the job.
He enjoyed great success with his Carpool Karaoke segment with the likes of Adele, Sir Elton John, Stevie Wonder, Madonna and Sir Paul McCartney.
Meanwhile, Manchester United legend Ferdinand has enjoyed a strong punditry career since retiring in 2015.
He worked for TNT Sports for several years before quitting last year to focus on his personal life.
Ferdinand is already planning to be there in partnership with Airbnb, as he revealed exclusively to The U.S. Sun.
He is also aiming to be in among the fans and create content for his award-winning YouTube channel.
Now he will link up with Corden and Karmel on Fox One from midnight starting on June 11 to review the day’s games.
Karmel, a comedian, was the co-head writer for The Late Late Show with James Corden back before Corden quit.
