“Sixteen Years Without My Girl…” — Jackiey Budden Breaks Down at Jade Goody’s Grave as Family Turmoil Explodes Again
More than 16 years after the nation said goodbye to Big Brother icon Jade Goody, her mother Jackiey Budden was seen making another heartbreaking pilgrimage to her daughter’s grave — this time as fresh chaos once again tears through the Goody–Brazier family.
Arriving at the quiet resting place in Epping Forest with Christmas decorations, fresh flowers, and cherished family photographs, the 66-year-old moved slowly and deliberately. She wiped the headstone clean. Straightened every ornament. Placed tender images of Jade alongside her beloved sons, Bobby, now 22, and Freddy, 21.
And then, she stopped.
For a long moment, Jackiey stood in silence — visibly overwhelmed, her grief etched across her face in a way that time has never managed to soften.
Along the base of the gravestone, she carefully laid small angel decorations, one by one — a silent message of protection for the family Jade left behind.
Speaking quietly afterward, her voice heavy with pain, Jackiey said:
“With all this stuff and the family drama being dragged up again, I come here to Jade. Sixteen years without my girl and I still look for her strength… being here makes me feel she’s looking after the boys.”
A Family Pulled Back Into Public War
Jackiey’s emotional visit comes as the Goody–Brazier family endures yet another brutal chapter of public turmoil.
This week, Freddy — who is preparing to become a father for the first time at just 21 — found himself at the center of explosive accusations from his pregnant girlfriend, Holly Swinburn. Holly publicly claimed Freddy had been taking part in drug-fuelled parties with other girls and accused his father, Jeff Brazier, of supporting her over his own son.
Holly described the relationship as “a nightmare” and declared she now plans to raise the baby alone.
Freddy has fiercely denied every allegation.
“No orgy has been had in our flat,” he said angrily.
“It wasn’t some drug party either. We had a joint, then everyone left. That’s it. One mate left their ID behind and suddenly it’s been turned into something else. What she’s saying could cost me work and affect my relationship with my child.”
He is also said to be deeply hurt by claims that Jeff has been “checking in on Holly every day.”
“I don’t like that Dad is apparently taking Holly’s side,” Freddy reportedly told friends.
Old Wounds Reopened Between Jeff and Jackiey
The latest drama has reignited long-standing tensions between Jeff and Jackiey. Earlier this year, Jeff submitted a court claim in an attempt to limit Jackiey’s contact with Freddy, alleging she was a bad influence following claims they had previously smoked cannabis together at her flat.
The move sparked a bitter row between father and son — especially painful after the pair appeared to grow close again while starring together on Race Across The World last year.
Although they later seemed to repair their relationship, the scars clearly remain.
Adding to the emotional storm, Jeff recently confirmed that he has split from wife Kate Dwyer after seven years of marriage.
Bobby’s Quiet Escape
Meanwhile, Jade’s elder son Bobby has taken a very different path. After stepping away from acting following his appearance on Strictly Come Dancing, he has travelled to India to pursue spiritualism and has become involved with the Hare Krishna movement — seeking peace far from the family battles playing out back home.
One Place of Quiet, After Everything
Amid all the accusations, heartbreak, and public fallouts, Jackiey has only one place where the noise stops.
Her daughter’s grave.
As she placed the final angel at the base of the headstone this week, her words captured a grief that has never truly loosened its grip:
“Sixteen years without my girl… and I still come here for strength.”
Time has moved on.
The family has fractured, fought, reunited, and fractured again.
But for Jackiey Budden — everything still leads back to Jade.
