Based on the Alan Bradley’s book series, Flavia centres on 11-year-old chemistry prodigy Flavia de Luce who stumbles on a body in the cucumber patch at the crumbling manor house that her family has called home for 500 years. It unlocks a new passion and her true calling in life as a detective.

But when her father Havillan (Freeman) unexpectedly confesses to the murder, Flavia must attempt to clear his name while outwitting the local constabulary, including Inspector Hewitt (Jones). Little does she know that her investigation will also expose long-buried secrets about her father and her missing mother Harriet.

Flavia, which also stars Jonathan Pryce and Molly Belle Wright in the lead role as Flavia de Luce, is based on The Sweetness at the Bottom of the Pie: A Flavia de Luce Mystery, so if you just can’t wait for the movie to solve the mystery, you can buy it now.

“I have long been a fan of Alan Bradley’s bestselling Flavia de Luce mysteries, so bringing his vivid world and characters to life on screen was a genuine joy. I’m delighted to share this first Flavia mystery on Sky and hope audiences of all ages enjoy watching it as much as we enjoyed creating it,” said director Bharat Nalluri.
