Former Victoria’s Secret Angel Sara Sampaio announced she adopted a new dog named Kodi on Thursday – nearly eight months after her prior pup Mongo went missing.
‘Losing [Mongo] with no closure was the most pain I’ve ever felt in my life,’ the 34-year-old Lions model – who boasts 13.3 million social media followers – wrote on Instagram.
‘I started warming up to the idea of getting a another dog, but honestly felt scared until I saw Kodi’s picture at the @thelabellefoundation Instagram. And let me tell you I fell in love right away and I knew he was mine.’
Sampaio went on to thank the non-profit animal rescue for connecting her with ‘the most cuddly and sweet pup ever.’

‘He reminds me a lot of Mongo, they both have very similar personalities and part me likes to believe that this was Mongo’s way of coming back to me,’ the Portuguese bombshell explained.
‘I’m not someone to believe in these things really, but for right now it brings some joy and peace and slowly Kodi has already started to heal me. Because I felt that love again.’
Sampaio noted she’s ‘still grieving’ the loss of Mongo and she’s ‘still hoping one day he gets back to me’ after he somehow escaped her $4M five-bedroom LA home at the end of April.
‘Not going to lie my mental health has taken a deep dive these past few weeks, not knowing what happen to him,’ the brunette beauty lamented on May 20.
‘We posted everywhere, made flyers, got sniffing dogs, hired professionals, animal communicators – you name it, we did it.’
Sampaio’s eldest dog, 15-year-old Luigi, lives with her family in Portugal.
The former SI Swimsuit stunner began dating Jack Nicholson’s son Ray in July 2023, but they haven’t been pictured together since the Vanity Fair Oscar party on March 2.
Sampaio will next portray Gia in Alec Griffen Roth’s 2026 drama Billy Knight alongside Charlie Heaton, Al Pacino, Elsie Hewitt, Billy Zane and Patrick Schwarzenegger.
