TWO men have been rushed to hospital with stab wounds after they were dragged from a car by a gang on e-bikes in a Tesco car park.
The pair were travelling in a black Hyundai Tucson when they were allegedly targeted by a group of men riding electric bikes and a quad bike in Billingham, County Durham.
The alleged assault, which took place around 9.35pm on Monday, July 28, saw the gang drive their electric vehicles at the Hyundai, causing damage to the car.
The group of men are said to have dragged the occupants from the vehicle and launched an assault.
A woman, the driver of the Hyundai, is reported to have been taken from the car and punched in the face.
Meanwhile, two men sitting in the back of the car were also allegedly pulled out and stabbed in the abdomen and sides.
Both male victims were taken to hospital for treatment, though their injuries are not thought to be life-threatening.
A fourth man, who was sitting in the passenger seat of the car, was not hurt in the incident.
The Tesco, which is open daily from 6am to midnight, was closed to customers after police arrived.
Detectives at Cleveland Police have launched an investigation into the assault and are appealing for witnesses to come forward.
A spokesperson for Cleveland Police said: “Anyone who witnessed the incident and has not yet spoken with officers, or anyone with footage of the incident or the quad and e-bikes riding away, is asked to call 101 quoting reference number 148971.”
