Whoopi Goldberg announces new career move away from The View
 (ABC)
Oscar-winning actor and co-host of The View, Whoopi Goldberg, has announced a new career move: stepping into the publishing world in a more hands-on way.
While she is not leaving the ABC talk show, she is adding a major new venture to her workload with the launch of a book imprint called WhoopInk. Goldberg, who has achieved EGOT status with wins across the Emmy, Grammy, Academy, and Tony Awards, is partnering with Blackstone Publishing on the project. The imprint will focus on developing and supporting new writers, with an emphasis on inclusion and discovering emerging voices. The goal of the imprint is to cultivate âfresh, diverse new talent to the marketplace.â
Goldberg has long been active in writing and publishing, having authored more than a dozen books throughout her career. With WhoopInk, she is moving from being a writer herself to helping guide and elevate other authors. The partnership with Blackstone Publishing is designed to bring industry experience together with Goldbergâs creative influence. The news comes just after Goldberg accused co-host Sunny Hostin of âmaking excusesâ for Tiger Woods.
According to the announcement, Goldberg will be âintimately involvedâ in the development process of the imprintâs books. This includes participating in cover design decisions and promotion strategies, giving her a direct role in shaping how each project reaches readers.
One of the authors already associated with WhoopInk is Rick Bleiweiss, a Blackstone executive who previously worked on Goldbergâs memoir.
Goldberg will also publish some of her own upcoming work through the imprint, including the possibility of a sequel to her memoir, which was one of her more widely discussed literary releases.
âI am personally looking forward to finding new authors, working with established authors, and bringing influential voices into this curated imprint,â Goldberg said about the venture.
Alongside her publishing plans, Goldberg continues to maintain a steady presence on television and in entertainment projects. Her role on The View continues, where she remains one of the programâs co-hosts.
Outside of daytime television, Goldberg has remained active across film and TV projects.
She has taken on some new television roles recently. She is also set to appear in the animated television series Big City Greens.
In late 2025 into early 2026, the star filmed a guest role on the Italian soap opera, Un Posto al Sole, in Naples, Italy.
She has long shared a love for Italian food and culture, even celebrating last Thanksgiving there while working.
Her last film appearance came in 2024, though she is already attached to additional projects in development, suggesting her screen career is continuing alongside her expanding work in publishing.
