Is Casualty on tonight? BBC show’s start time and guest stars as EastEnders actor joins

Casualty fans will be looking forward to their next fix of the BBC medical series on Saturday.

The iconic medical series, which has been running since 1986, typically airs on Saturday night on BBC One with episodes available to watch on BBC iPlayer.

Casualty’s latest series, Lethal Legacy, is airing episode 3 of 12 tonight, 9 May, and the new season has introduced brand new storylines.

The upcoming episode will see Matty Linlaker, played by Aron Julius, risk his career for Stevie Nash, played by Elinor Lawless. Matty and Stevie have been struggling since new resident doctor Kim Chang’s death following an eating disorder battle in the last series.

In recent scenes, the duo have struck up a surprise romance which fans have already predicted won’t end well considering they’re boh still grieving Kim.

Who guest stars in Lethal Legacy episode 3?

Gwion Morris Jones will play Rory Dickson, Christopher Timothy will play Alan Gibson, Eileen O’Brien will play Beryl Rice, Bethzienna Williams will play Emilia Gold, Adam Loxley will play Gary Thornley, Calin Bleau will play Bohdan Grgic, Desi Ivanova will play Mira Grgic and Ava Isobel Hicklin will play Abigail Clarkson.

Viewers will recognise some of the guest stars as Christopher Timothy, who will play Alan Gibson, has an impressive career in telly.

Christopher, 85, is best known for playing James Herriot in All Creatures Great and Small, Mac McGuire in Doctors and Ted Murray in EastEnders. He also provided the voiceover for The Yorkshire Vet from 2015 to 2023.

Eileen O’Brien, who is playing Beryl Rice, will also be recognisable to viewers. Eileen, 80, is best known for Emmerdale, where she played Beattie Dixon in 2013 and previously appeared on the ITV soap as teacher Bridget Burgess from 2006 to 2007.

Other soap roles include playing Edie Smith, the mother of Mary Smith, on EastEnders from 1987 to 1988. In 2013, she played Rita in the BBC comedy-drama Being Eileen.

Meanwhile, Gwion Morris Jones, who is playing Rory Dickson, is known for playing Eddie Bevan in Under Salt Marsh. Other roles include Torchwood and Doctor Who.

Casualty airs on Saturday, 9 May, at 8:45pm on BBC One and BBC iPlayer
