JoJo Siwa breaks silence on relationship after Chris Hughes told viewers he was ‘single’
JoJo Siwa has taken to social media to address her relationship with Chris Hughes after the reality star said on Celebrity Master Chef that he had been single for three years
JoJo Siwa has finally addressed her relationship with Chris Hughes after the former Love Island star opened up about his own love life on Celebrity Master Chef. The pair became friends on Celebrity Big Brother earlier this year, and despite JoJo being in a relationship at the time, their friendship eventually blossomed into a romance. They eventually confirmed their romance in June of this year and have since made it no secret that they’re head over heels for one another.
But Chris left people concerned this week. While on the BBC show, he said that he was “single” and had been for some time. Speaking to the cameras, the reality star said: “So, I live on my own, I’ve been single for three years, so it’s not like I’m cooking for anyone.” He added: It’s quite sad, really, isn’t it? I need someone there to show off to in the kitchen, I’ve got the judges.”
The comments left fans of Chris and JoJo completely bewildered as to whether they were still an item, as they were believed to have been together when the episode aired.
Now, JoJo has spoken out to address the speculation while celebrating their six-month anniversary together. Sharing a collage of snaps together on Instagram, JoJo said: “6 months (heart emoji), wouldn’t trade one day for anything.”
The American star went on to share a video of the couple dancing, alongside the caption: “Full heart the last six months,” alongside a heart emoji. Chris, however, has not commented on their anniversary or the speculation.
But eagle-eyed fans had pointed out that the episode was filmed before Chris met JoJo. One said online: “They announced in May that he had filmed MasterChef before Big Brother. They didn’t know if it was ever actually going to air.”
A second penned: “It was filmed earlier this year before he met her.” Meanwhile, Chris recently opened up about the exact moment he found himself falling for JoJo, who first found fame on Dance Moms.
His comment confirmed a theory that fans of the couple had hatched months ago. Chris has since opened up to Harry Corrin on the Question The Default podcast. He insisted that: “Nothing was rushed or forced, it just happened.”
Chris said he flew to meet her in Mexico shortly after CBB. “I flew out to surprise her, which was nice,” he explained, adding: “I spent a few days with her and her family in Orlando as well before flying home, and that’s where it all started.”
He went on to reveal: “I went to Mexico and met up with her, which is where the whole feelings developed and things changed. Which was lovely and no secret to anybody.
“But it was genuinely lovely, and nothing was rushed or forced; it just happened.” American star JoJo has opened up about her hope to walk down the aisle. She said: “A wedding is a two-person thing. So we would have to decide what it looks like. But I do know that I want it to have a baby-blue scheme, and I need to help Chris make the playlist.”
