Police have launched a manhunt a stone’s throw away from the I’m A Celebrity camp after a man was shot and killed. The victim, 41, was attacked at a property and died at the scene, while two others sustained injuries. The gunman and his accomplice fled the scene in Eungella, New South Wales. On Wednesday (December 3), cops were alerted about the attack at 1.25pm and a search party was launched in the town, which is located just 20 minutes away from Camp Dungay, where the stars would have been at the time.

According to reports, a 38-year-old man was shot but later received treatment at a local hospital. In another incident on the same road, a 45-year-old man was hit by a car and later treated in hospital before he was placed under police guard.

He has since been placed in custody along with a suspected accomplice, but local police have yet to reveal what the specific offences the two men are being held for. A source told The Sun: “The jungle security bosses keep their ears to the ground and are well-aware of what’s going on in the local area.

“If something has happened nearby, they will know about it – and they act swiftly to ensure the safety of the entire team at all times. Fortunately, no one connected with the show’s production was in any way affected by this incident.”

The New South Wales Police Force have since spoken out about the incident, telling the outlet: “Officers attached to Tweed/Byron Police District have been told two men, aged 41 and 38, were allegedly shot by another man, who ran from the scene with a fourth man.

“NSW Ambulance paramedics treated the older man at the property for a gunshot wound; however, he died at the scene. He is yet to be formally identified.” The police said detectives are looking to speak to both the survivor of the gunshot and the hit-and-run.

They added: “Police are now waiting to speak with those men to establish the circumstances of how both were injured. Anyone with information about the incident is urged to contact Tweed Heads Police or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.”

It comes after spin-off show host Kemi Rodgers revealed some of the unseen chaos unfolding behind the scenes on the ITV reality show. She told The Sun: “We had a really windy day, I mean, this week has just been chaos, but there was a really windy day where the trees were really creaking, and I was like, ‘Oh my goodness, the branches are falling down’.

“Then literally, I think it was hard to tell when you’re watching at home, but at the very end of the show, pots were falling over, trees were falling over. It was so chaotic. You have to continue making a TV show, and it’s like, ‘Is everything fine? Are we safe?’ Of course, we are safe, but, you know, you just get panicky.”
