The duo were taking part in the ‘Strictly Pro Challenge’, a regular feature where the professional dancers must perform a dance routine which receives scoring from Shirley Ballas before being placed in order of merit.
Nevertheless, before viewers could witness Katya and Amy’s performance, presenter Janette Manrara paused to enquire about the Strictly Come Dancing star’s wellbeing following her recent operation, which saw her inundated with support.
Amy responded: “I’m feeling really well actually! Four weeks ago today, I had my surgery, and recovery is all going to plan.”
This prompted enthusiastic applause from the studio audience as Katya complimented her colleague: “You look beautiful!”

Amy revealed to her supporters in November that she was having a second mastectomy, though she emphasised this was not due to a new cancer diagnosis, reports Wales Online.
The 35-year-old has been transparent regarding her cancer experience since receiving her initial diagnosis in 2023, after finding a lump in her breast just one day before departing for her honeymoon.
Following her diagnosis, Amy underwent her first mastectomy and received chemotherapy treatment, which prevented her from participating in Strictly Come Dancing during that series.
She returned to the competition last year partnered with JLS member JB Gill, with the pair becoming enormous crowd favourites.

Unfortunately, Amy sustained an injury and was forced to step down, leading to JB being paired with Lauren Oakley instead. This year, Amy faced another setback on Strictly when she became the first professional dancer to be eliminated alongside her celebrity partner Thomas Skinner.

In a heartfelt message to Thomas, she expressed gratitude for their shared experience. She penned at the time: “Tom, you have truly helped bring me back, not just to the show, but to myself. Our training days have been filled with laughter and just enjoying the moment.

“Your work ethic, your heart, and your commitment the last few weeks has been 110%. You’ve embraced every challenge with such positivity, and I couldn’t have asked for more from you.”
Despite no longer being part of the competition, sharp-eyed viewers have noticed the star appearing in the Clauditorium and participating in some of the pre-filmed group performances.
