Speaking in a recent interview with state media, Ari Larijani, Secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council, said that the Iranian people are united in support of their country, while warning that the administration of US President Donald Trump will have to “pay a heavy price.”

Iran’s top security official claims that the U.S. and Israel want to essentially “disintegrate” Iran. Larijani accused Washington of trying to repeat its strategy in Venezuela, but argued that U.S. officials “understand nothing about West Asia,” particularly Iran.
He also said that the US hoped “to attack, take control and end the war,” but is now “stuck.”
Meanwhile, US President Donald Trump said the US and Israeli military operation in Iran was going “very well.” On March 6, Trump called the results of the military operation “great,” and said the US had destroyed 42 naval vessels.
The Israeli military also announced that it had launched an airstrike on Mehrabad Airport in Tehran, Iran. Israel claimed to have destroyed 16 aircraft belonging to the Quds Force of the Iranian Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, a unit responsible for special missions outside of Iran.
The Iranian Red Crescent reported that 1,332 civilians have been killed since the conflict began. The conflict shows no signs of abating as Iran continues to target US military bases and other facilities in Gulf countries.
