ADAM Peatyâs mum Caroline has hit back after sonâs latest swipe, fuming âsomeone wants to destroy our familyâ.
The Olympian, 31, has been embroiled in a family feud since the announcement of his engagement to Gordon Ramsayâs daughter Holly, 26, in late 2024.
It resulted in his mum and the rest of his immediate family not attending the wedding in December last year.
And Adam spoke out about how the drama has affected him after he was humbled by a shock Commonwealth Games defeat over the weekend.
Caroline has since taken to social media and shared a black and white picture of Cillian Murphy on Peaky Blinders with text that says: âI forgive people but that doesnât mean I accept their behaviour or trust them.
âI forgive them for me, so I can let go and move on with my life.â
âTrust is so important to me,â she added.
Caroline then wrote: âWe continue to support Adam from afar. Heâs our son whom we love, whom we supported to reach his aspirations.
âOur love our time our sacrifices were given freely with no expectation of financial reward, just genuinely given with the love as any mother and father would do for their child.
âThere is something or someone at play wanting to destroy our family completely, but I have news for you. We are strong, we love and we are always there for each other.â
She continued: âThere are many trolls on social media and making comments about us, which are truly evil and very untrue.
âThe very nature of our strength as a family has helped us move past the nastiness, the lies that have been told about us.
âWe have nothing to prove, we just want to be left alone.
âIâve taken this for eight months and enough is enough, leave us alone to move on with our life and enjoy our growing family.â
Three-time Olympic champion Adam walked away from the Tollcross International Centre in Glasgow with a surprise bronze medal from his specialist event.
Australian Sam Williamson secured gold in the menâs 100 metres breaststroke, followed by Filip Nowacki, 18, who placed second.
He had to stop and compose himself as he talked about the online hate he had received for being someone in the public eye.
He said: âItâs hard because I know how hard I work. I know the s*** Iâve been through.
âNo fault of my own. It does take a toll. The choices Iâve made over the last few months have been hard ones.
âBut Iâm happy at the same time that I can get here. I didnât quit at the Paris Olympics. I deserved more. I f***ing work for it.
âThereâs obviously a lot of unanswered questions, which is about right, because we havenât yet had time to debrief.
âBut that is sport. It can break you. It can make you. You can have highs to highs and lows to lows.
âMy wife is always going to be proud of me. As a father, it doesnât matter if you come home with a gold â as long as you come home with a teddy, which I did.
âThe emotion is something Iâm always going to carry. Iâm never going to be afraid to show weakness.
âBecause itâs so important for making stronger people, making stronger men, stronger fathers, husbands.
âThis cycle especially, Iâm like, s***, how have I worked this hard at this age? And then you get a result like that. Iâm better than that.
âI canât really put in where it went wrong. Maybe itâs just an off-swim. Or maybe itâs just because Iâve been two years out of the championship heats and semi-finals. But it does hurt.
âThereâs a lot going on in my head right now. The same thing happened four years ago in Birmingham.
âItâs about ignoring most of the rubbish you read about me online. You donât know who I am.
âPeople who comment have got to look at themselves in the mirror â you cannot hurt me.
âItâs about my family, and that does come at a cost â being able to ignore that, and being able to focus on my job.â
After the race, Adam, who has a son from a previous relationship, was seen planting a sweet kiss on Hollyâs baby bump.
The smitten couple tied the knot at a star-studded Bath Abbey affair on December 27 last year.
They announced they were expecting their first child together back on June 20.
Adam and Holly started dating in June 2023.
