Amanda Holden marked her 55th birthday in exactly the way fans have come to expect — with sunshine, glamour and a luxury escape that quickly lit up social media.
The Britain’s Got Talent judge jetted to Dubai for a lavish birthday break, sharing sun-drenched glimpses of the celebration with her Instagram followers. Amanda stayed at the ultra-exclusive Banyan Tree Dubai, where rooms reportedly start at around £1,300 a night, and embraced the milestone surrounded by family, friends and pure indulgence.
Sun, Style and a Confident Glow
Throughout the trip, Amanda showcased her famously youthful figure in a series of chic Melissa Odabash bikinis, posing poolside with a drink in hand and soaking up the Middle Eastern sunshine. From a striking orange two-piece to a soft mint-green bikini, she appeared relaxed, radiant and completely at ease as she celebrated turning 55.
Sharing details of the getaway, Amanda wrote:
“I recently spent a few days celebrating my birthday with family and friends in the beautiful @banyantreedxb. It’s an incredible hotel in the Bluewaters Dubai area.”
She praised the resort’s private beach, pools and spa, calling the entire stay “super chic” and admitting she had been “looked after so well” — before playfully noting that all her swimwear came from her favourite designer.
Showbiz Friends Lead the Praise
It didn’t take long for the comment section to fill with admiration. Fellow Heart FM presenter Ashley Roberts was among the first to respond with a simple “Looking good,” while former TOWIE star Jessica Wright declared Amanda “the hottest 55-year-old.”
Amanda later revealed she was also treated to a birthday breakfast by her husband, Chris Hughes, who joined her on the trip. The couple, married since 2008, share daughters Lexi, 20, and Hollie, 14.
“I Run for My Wine”
Amanda has long been open about how she maintains her figure — without pretending it comes without effort. She has previously shared that she runs three to four miles a week, practises Kundalini yoga and follows what she jokingly calls a “Viking workout regime.”
But she’s equally honest about balance.
“I’m not a slave to any beauty or fitness regime because I love food too much,” she has said. “The deal I struck with myself is I run for my rosé in the summer and run for my red wine in winter.”
While she laughs that “it’s all downhill from your 20s,” Amanda firmly rejects the idea that women should fade into the background as they age.
“I’m from a generation of women who won’t disappear,” she once joked. “We’ll flaunt our bits for as long as we can. And if you can’t tone it — tan it.”
Confidence Over Perfection
Despite the flawless bikini snaps, Amanda has been refreshingly candid about the reality behind the glamour. She has admitted to daily drinks while filming abroad, stepping away from her Peloton, and “letting it all go” over summer before resetting later for work.
“I don’t stop myself from living,” she has said. “If you can’t enjoy yourself, what’s the point?”
At 55, Amanda Holden isn’t chasing youth — she’s embracing confidence, balance and joy on her own terms. And judging by the reaction online, fans are more than happy to celebrate right along with her.
