The high-profile split between TV veterans Ruth Langsford and Eamonn Holmes has taken a dramatic and unexpected legal turn, with Ruth now bringing in legal reinforcements to protect her assets — particularly their lavish £3.6 million Surrey mansion.

The couple, who tied the knot in 2010 after first meeting in 1997, announced their separation last year, ending 14 years of marriage. They share one son, Jack. Since the split, Eamonn has moved out of the six-bedroom family home.

Now, shocking legal documents reveal that Ruth has officially severed their joint tenancy — a legal move that ensures Eamonn will never be entitled to her half of the property.

In other words, if Ruth were to pass away, her portion of the house would not go to Eamonn, but to someone of her choosing.

Law Society expert Sarah Dwight explained the implications to The Sun, saying:

“When you own a property jointly, it’s a 50/50 split. If one partner dies, the other inherits the entire share — even if the deceased had a will leaving it to someone else. Severing the joint tenancy prevents this.”

She added:

“One of the first things divorce lawyers do is advise clients to sever joint tenancy so they can leave their share of the property to anyone they want. This move clearly protects Ruth.”

The move is a powerful message — not just legally, but emotionally — underlining the finality of the couple’s split.

Entertainment Daily! reached out to Ruth’s representatives for comment. Eamonn’s team has declined to speak.

But that’s not all — there’s growing concern behind the scenes at GB News, where Eamonn currently co-hosts.

Just days ago, Eamonn suffered a fall from his chair live on air. While the moment wasn’t caught on camera, the loud thud was clearly heard by viewers. The 64-year-old later admitted:

“It was a real shock. I had a bad fall two weeks ago in the bathroom that put me in hospital — and this one hit me in the same place, right in the back.”

Insiders have since told the Daily Mail that bosses at GB News are becoming increasingly worried about his ongoing health issues.

“He’s in constant pain. It’s heartbreaking. He’s up at dawn doing three hours of live TV — which he’s brilliant at — but you have to wonder how much longer he can keep going,” one source revealed.

According to reports, producers are already discussing potential replacements, with Richard Madeley being eyed as a possible successor should Eamonn step back.

The drama is far from over, and fans are left wondering — what’s next for the once-golden couple?
