KATE Garraway ‘hard-launched’ her new romance with Liam Halligan as she shared a cosy selfie from a friend’s birthday party.
The Good Morning Britain presenter, 59, and economic journalist Liam, 57, began dating earlier this year.
Taking to X, Kate shared a sweet photo of her smiling alongside Liam and friends.
The ITV star’s friend wrote on X: “Happy birthday to my darling husband. We are celebrating on your birthday eve with our best friends . Love you.”
Kate re-posted and replied: “We love you James!”
Meanwhile, Liam was a friend of Kate’s late husband Derek Draper, who died in January 2024 aged 56 after a battle with long Covid.
Earlier this month, Kate and Liam jetted off to Italy for their first romantic trip abroad.
She joined new beau Liam on a work trip to Europe over the weekend.
An insider said: “Liam was travelling to Italy and asked Kate to join him, she was happy to oblige.
“It will be quite low-key, but they are hoping to be able to spend some time together and enjoy the Italian cuisine.”
In May mum-of-two Kate was snapped nuzzling up Liam while on a Paris bike ride in London.
And according to the Daily Mail earlier this year, Kate was ‘smiling again’ after forming a ‘close friendship’ with Liam, who she is believed to have known for more than 20 years.
It came after she opened up about her conflicted feelings towards dating after Derek’s death.
She previously told The Sun: “I don’t feel as if I can. It’s a weird one, because I wouldn’t like to think I’d spend the rest of my life without love, but also it feels preposterous at the moment to think of being with anyone else.
“What Derek and I loved was our home life and just pottering around, and we had 21 years of that, so mentally I am still in that zone.
“However, I do realise that, when the time is right, I am not going to meet someone in my living room, so I’m going to have to think about the future at some point.”
