Lisa Faulkner has shared a personal update with fans after revealing she has been treated for early-stage breast cancer.
The TV chef and actress, who is married to John Torode, explained that her recent absence from social media was due to surgery she had two weeks ago. She described the operation as significant, but said the results had brought reassuring news, with doctors able to remove what was needed.
Lisa, 54, appeared calm and positive as she told followers that she is now recovering and is expected to begin radiotherapy in the coming weeks. She said she still has some healing ahead, but is feeling much better.
In her message, Lisa also spoke about how grateful she is that she attended her mammogram appointment, saying the cancer may not have been found as early without it. She encouraged others not to delay their checks.
She ended her update by thanking the NHS and expressing appreciation for the screening and treatment that allowed the issue to be found early.
Following the post, Lisa received a wave of supportive comments from fans, with many sending love, encouragement and well wishes as she continues her recovery.
