One year is a lifetime in celeb-ville — and the romantic showbiz landscape looks unrecognisable as 2025 draws to a close.

From the collapse of once-rock-solid marriages to cheating rumours, revenge albums and dating-app scandals, this year delivered heartbreak on a blockbuster scale.
US singer Olivia Rodrigo shocked fans just days ago when it emerged she had split from London actor Louis Partridge after two years together. The PDA-loving pair, once seen as one of the industry’s sweetest couples, quietly called time a few weeks ago.
A source said Olivia became “emotional” while talking about the break-up and was seen in tears at Lily Allen’s A-lister-packed Sexy Santa party at Stringfellows.
“It’s not been the easiest few weeks,” they said. “It’s really sad right now.”
Lily Allen & David Harbour

When Lily married Stranger Things star David Harbour in a Las Vegas ceremony officiated by an Elvis impersonator, fans believed she had finally found her fairytale. But by February the pair had split amid explosive cheating claims — and reports he had returned to celebrity dating app Raya.Lily turned heartbreak into art, releasing her jaw-dropping revenge album West End Girl, complete with lyrics about open marriages, affairs and a mysterious “other apartment” dubbed the ‘Pussy Palace’. One track, Madeleine, was thought to reference alleged lover Natalie Tippett, who later denied any affair and said she felt “extremely violated” by the portrayal.
Harbour later described his life as “a house of cards”, admitting even small changes could cause everything to collapse.
JoJo Siwa & Kath Ebbs

When JoJo entered the Celebrity Big Brother house, she was loved-up with Aussie influencer Kath Ebbs. But fans watched in real time as sparks flew between JoJo and former Love Island star Chris Hughes.
JoJo dumped Kath at the wrap party — a move Kath branded “humiliating”. Now JoJo and Chris are spending their first Christmas together, while Kath has moved on and announced their engagement to Tilly Lucas-Rodd.
Tasha Ghouri & Andrew Le Page

One of Love Island’s favourite couples ended their two-and-a-half-year romance in February. Speculation swirled after claims Tasha had joined celebrity dating app Raya without Andrew’s knowledge — something she later admitted on a podcast, blaming “laziness” for the break-up.
Tasha has since gone public with TV presenter Cam Whitnall, while Andrew has relocated to Dubai.
Nicole Kidman & Keith Urban

The golden couple of Hollywood stunned fans with their split after 18 years of marriage. Friends say Nicole was “blindsided” when Keith walked away, despite years of trying to salvage the relationship.
The Oscar-winner has since thrown herself into work, filming major projects while spending long stretches in London. She filed for divorce in September citing irreconcilable differences.
Orlando Bloom & Katy Perry

After six years engaged, the pop icon and actor announced their shock separation this summer, vowing to co-parent daughter Daisy Dove.
Katy’s haunting new single Bandaids hints at lost love — while she has now hard-launched a romance with former Canadian PM Justin Trudeau. Orlando, meanwhile, has been spotted partying with nepo babies, earning the brutal label of “the world’s most embarrassing ex”.
Cat Deeley & Patrick Kielty

The TV power couple ended their 12-year marriage in July, insisting no third party was involved. But Patrick’s family were said to be furious when Cat did not attend his mother’s funeral — a moment they felt signalled the marriage was over.
Richard & Mindy Hammond

After 28 years together, former Top Gear star Richard Hammond and wife Mindy announced their separation in January, saying they remain a family — just “structured a bit differently”.
From revenge albums to heartbreak in the spotlight, 2025 will be remembered as the year love truly went to war in celebrity land.
