FOXBOROUGH — British YouTube creator and I’m a Celebrity winner “Angry Ginge” has been targeted by a wave of online abuse after confronting a spectator for alleged racist behavior during a World Cup match in the United States. The content creator, whose real name is Morgan Burtwistle, filmed the altercation while attending the England versus Ghana fixture at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, Massachusetts.
Confrontation at the Stadium
The 24-year-old content creator posted a video from the stadium stands, drawing his fans’ attention to an incident unfolding in his seating section. In the footage, Burtwistle explicitly flags a nearby spectator to stadium staff.
“We have a situation where the gentleman that is sat there is being racist,” Burtwistle told his viewers in the video. “I’ve reported it to the steward because ‘kick it out’ is the saying, [and] I will stand by that. So he’s going now to get his supervisor, and we’ll see what happens.”
Expressing his frustration with the alleged behavior, the influencer added: “There’s no way he should ever set foot in a stadium or watch a football game ever again.”
Alleged Inaction by Stadium Security
Despite reporting the individual, Burtwistle claimed that the response from the venue’s security personnel was insufficient. According to the YouTuber, stadium stewards informed him that no official action could be taken against the spectator unless the alleged racist comments were repeated and verified by staff.
The incident has sparked significant debate online. While many have commended Burtwistle for using his platform to challenge discriminatory behavior under the football community’s “Kick It Out” anti-racism principles, the creator has simultaneously been subjected to a highly polarized wave of backlash and abuse across social media platforms following the match.
Neither the stadium management nor tournament officials have released an official statement regarding the handling of the incident.
The man who allegedly made the unknown comments attempted to apologise to Burtwistle, asking if they could forget about the incident, to which he replied ‘no’.
Reportedly the man was then removed from his seat but allowed to watch the game from another part of the stadium.
‘It’s absolutely not good enough from the American stewards, the message before the game, the message is kick it out – if you see it, say it,’ Burtwistle told his viewers.

‘I’ve gone and reported it, he’s not been kicked out of the stadium. We saw him as we left, he’s been allowed to watch the whole game after the things he was saying about the Ghana team.’
However, since posting the video, Burtwistle has shared on his Instagram stories abusive messages he’s received along with the caption: ‘Standing up to racism gets you this? What a world we live in.’
‘You some little goon yall (sic) see who’s racist when the men of England take you out you are no more we see you I (sic) Manchester,’ one read. ‘Let’s see how woke you get when we grab your security ain’t going to do shit cuz they gonna get it to.
‘You little woke t**t soon your (sic) get smashed the f*** in you watch.’
It then went on to claim that ‘illegal alines (sic)’ would sexually abuse ‘women and chidrne (sic)’.
Another meanwhile spouted homophobic abuse.
