The Season 3 trailer just dropped⊠What once felt like a rise-to-power journey has now turned into a full-blown psychological war. Power isnât just something to winâitâs something that slowly consumes everyone who touches it. At the center stands Kimmie â no longer the underestimated player from earlier seasons. Sheâs sharper, colder, and far more dangerous. Every move she makes now feels calculated, like sheâs always thinking three steps ahead⊠but at what cost? Because the higher she climbs, the more she risks losing herself. What makes this series hit so hard isnât just the twistsâitâs the characters. No one is purely good or evil anymore. Allies turn into threats. Enemies reveal unexpected depth. And trust? Itâs basically a currency that no one can afford. Season 3 feels darker, more intense, and way more unpredictable. The stakes arenât just about winning the throneâtheyâre about survival, identity, and the price of ambition. And when that final moment comes⊠when Kimmie finally reaches the top⊠You canât help but wonder: Did she win the game⊠or did the game win her?
Kimmie (Taylor Polidore Williams) is coming back to take whatâs hers. Thatâs right, Tyler Perryâs Beauty in Black has been picked up for a third and final season.
News of the Bellariesâ last go-around has arrived before Part 2 of Season 2 has even premiered. You can tune into all the vicious family power plays when Part 2 debuts March 19, only on Netflix. See a slew of new photos from the second half of the season here.
Season 1 of the series spent seven weeks ranked in the Top 10, and in its second week it was No. 1 across 28 countries. Season 2, Part 1, was also the No. 1 show in 14 countries in the second week of its debut.
Since Season 1, weâve watched underdog Kimmie go from dancing for survival in the Chicago club scene to sitting at the head of the table as chief operating officer of the hair-care empire Beauty in Black. Now sheâs the HBIC (Head Bellarie in Charge) of the family under the tutelage of her husband, businessman Horace Bellarie (Ricco Ross).
âKimmieâs transformation has honestly been one of the highlights of my career so far,â Williams says. âGetting to dive into a characterâs evolution is one of my favorite things ever about acting. I think her confidence really stems from Horace. He believed in her from the start, and heâs been coaching her on how to not only survive this family but [also how] to take up her rightful space with them. Now weâre finally watching her step into that power, and itâs so fun to play.â
Season 2, Part 1, ends with Kimmieâs first day at the office as COO, and no Bellarie is pleased to see her â or have their power called into question.
Horaceâs entitled sons, Roy (Julian Horton) and Charles (Steven G. Norfleet), arenât thrilled with calling their new stepmom âboss.â Then thereâs Horaceâs dodgy brother, Norman (Richard Lawson), and resentful ex-wife, Olivia (Debbi Morgan), who have their claws in the family business.
Kimmie also manages to put Jules (Charles Malik Whitfield), the head of security (and her old boss), in his place, along with Royâs estranged wife, Mallory (Crystle Stewart). But Stewart advises not to underestimate Beauty in Blackâs (former) queen bee, as she faces off with Kimmie in the back half of the season. âMallory has a few tricks no one sees coming,â she says. âIf you think sheâs already done her worst, youâre not ready.â
