It was the heartbreak he never saw coming. Good Morning Britain star Alex Beresford has finally opened up about the collapse of his marriage — and the painful scars it left behind. 
The 44-year-old presenter, best known as GMB’s warm and grounded weather reporter, revealed that his split from wife Natalia Natkaniec just before the pandemic was one of the toughest battles he’s ever faced. The couple, parents to young son Cruz, had shared years of love before parting ways in 2019.
“I Never Thought I’d Be Here”
Speaking with raw honesty on the Britain Get Talking podcast, Alex admitted how deeply the breakup shook him:
“It’s been a massive learning curve. I didn’t think that approaching 40, I’d be here — starting over. You imagine being married, having a family… and then life takes a turn you never expected.”
Then came lockdown — and the silence that followed. Trapped in uncertainty, Alex confessed he feared growing old alone.
“Life is for sharing,” he said quietly. “It’d be great to meet someone again one day, but they have to be right — for me, and for Cruz.”
“I’m Not a Quitter”
Behind the calm exterior, the decision to end his marriage tore him apart.
“Natalia and I decided to part ways as summer came. You know me — I’m not a quitter. I hate giving up on anything. We tried, we really did. But sometimes, love means walking away — and that’s never easy.”
Even after deciding to separate, the couple continued living under the same roof for months — learning how to let go while still caring for each other and their son.

Through it all, Alex says his loved ones became his anchor.
“I realised how strong I am — but only because of the people standing behind me,” he reflected.
