GETHIN Jones has been given a slap on the wrist from the Beeb as he was issued a “warning” for breaching the channel’s guidelines.

Cheeky Gethin has been secretly plugging products on BBC1’s Morning Live, which he anchors alongside Helen Skelton and Michelle Ackerley.
The hunky Welsh host has recently been spotted wearing an array of timepieces from the brand Clogau while on screen.
Gethin is actually a paid ambassador for the firm – which is strictly against the Beeb’s rules.
The guidelines say presenters “must not appear on-air wearing clothing or using products or services which they have been contracted to promote.”
BBC Studios told the Mail on Sunday: “We have clear guidelines around presenters’ commercial activities, and Gethin has been reminded of these.”
Gethin has been seen donning Clogau’s watches on the programme consistently over the past eight months.
One model with a stainless-steel case, black bezel and hefty price tag of £550 has been seen more than thirty times on the show.
The 48-year-old was most recently spotted wearing the watch in the studio on Wednesday.
Another of the Cardiff-born star‘s favourite timepieces a polished stainless-steel case plated with gold and comes with a black leather strap, which will set you back £420.
A source told the Mail on Sunday: ‘It is completely unacceptable. Stars are blatantly flouting the rules. Clearly, there is not adequate monitoring.
“Gethin has worn these pieces for months now, unnoticed by producers and line managers.”
The Sun has approached Gethin for a comment.
He has been the face of Clogau’s men’s jewellery range for approximately a decade and regularly posts sponsored content for them on Instagram.
By law, the BBC is prohibited from broadcasting commercial advertisements or engaging in hidden product placement on its public service channels.
Gethin is not the first star to be given a slap on the wrist for secret promo.
Gary Lineker, Monty Don and Chemmy Alcott are some of the more well known presenters who have pushed the Beeb’s boundaries.
During the Euros 2024, Gary was reminded of the rules after he presented coverage wearing a sage green jacket and T-shirt that perfectly matched his own commercial fashion collaboration with Next.
Gardeners’ World host Monty was also given a swift reminder after he wore his signature navy blue Barbour jacket on-air while simultaneously fronting a major global advertising campaign for Barbour.
And Chemmy got a telling off as she wore knitwear from Snow Finel – a brand which she’s a commercial ambassador and designer for.
