Stacey Solomon and Joe Swash finally had the chance to enjoy something many busy parents dream of — a rare day out without the children.
The couple headed to Silverstone for the British Grand Prix after Joe’s sister kindly stepped in to help with childcare. Stacey shared her excitement before the trip, calling it a “mum and dad date day” and making it clear how special it felt to have some time alone with Joe.
But once they arrived, the day quickly became much less private — and much more amusing.
Stacey later revealed that the outing had turned into a family get-together, with her former partner Dean Cox, his wife, her dad Dave, and other relatives all joining them at Silverstone.
Rather than making the situation feel awkward, Stacey leaned into the humour of it. She joked that the perfect people to bring on a date day with your husband were your ex-partner, his wife, and your dad.
The light-hearted moment showed the warm dynamic within Stacey’s blended family. Dean is the father of Stacey’s eldest son, Zachary, and the group appeared relaxed and happy to spend the day together.
There was also a sweet reason Stacey’s dad had to be part of the trip. She explained that going to the British Grand Prix had long been one of Dave’s dreams, so leaving him out simply was not an option.
That meant Joe jokingly found himself in the role of “third wheel” on what was originally meant to be a romantic day with his wife.
Stacey and Joe are often praised by fans for the honest, funny and loving way they share family life. Stacey is mum to Zachary and Leighton from previous relationships, while she and Joe share Rex, Rose and Belle together.
Their Silverstone outing may not have gone exactly as planned, but it turned into something just as memorable — a cheerful reminder that modern family life does not always follow a script, and sometimes the best moments are the unexpected ones.
