A real-life soap romance has come to an abrupt end, as Coronation Street star Katie McGlynn and former EastEnders actor Max Bowden have reportedly split â just months after their passionate street kiss made headlines and left her ex-fiancĂ© devastated.

The pair first grew close earlier this year while starring together in the touring play Murder at Midnight, and quickly fell into what insiders described as a âwhirlwind romance.â
But now, sources exclusively tell The Sun the relationship has officially run its course.
An insider shared:
âWorking together meant they barely had time for anything else, and one thing led to another. But Katie has come to her senses and decided to end things. Max is said to be pretty cut up about it â things are awkward.â

What makes the split even more complicated is the fact that both actors are set to return to the stage together in the New Year as the play continues its national tour.
The insider added:
âTheyâre taking a break over Christmas, then straight back to touring. Sheâs hoping Max will be over it by then.â

Back in October, the pair were spotted enjoying a passionate kiss outside a pub in Malvern â a moment that quickly spread online.
Max, 30, known for his role as Ben Mitchell on EastEnders, walked hand-in-hand with Katie, 32, who once played Sinead Tinker on Coronation Street.
An onlooker described the couple as âvery intimate and comfortable,â adding:
âThey only had eyes for each other.â

But their PDA reportedly didnât sit well with Katieâs ex, TOWIEâs Ricky Rayment, who was said to be âheartbrokenâ after seeing the pictures â especially with their failed engagement still fresh.
Max, meanwhile, has a history of dating co-stars, having previously been linked to EastEnders actresses Danielle Harold and Shona McGarty.
Both Katie and Max have continued their commitments on tour despite the split, though neither has yet commented publicly. Representatives for both actors have been contacted for a statement.
