Married At First Sight UK‘s Sophie Brown has found her happy ever after, three years after her ‘painful’ TV split from ‘body-shaming’ ex Johnathan Wileman.
The reality star, who featured on the E4 show in 2002, took to Instagram on Wednesday to reveal boyfriend James Preset had popped the question during their sun-soaked trip to his home city of Adelaide, Australia.
Sophie shared a snap of the hunk surprising her on one knee on Glenelg Beach with the loved-up couple both dressed in white for the occasion.
The overjoyed bride-to-be captioned the post: ‘Just when life couldn’t get any better’.
Many of Sophie’s former MAFS co-stars were quick to share their congratulations with Rizz Darlington saying: Omg congratulations
Zoe Clifton wrote: ‘Congratulations!!’ while Chanita Stephenson added: “Ahhhhh congratulations’.

During her time on Married At First Sight, Sophie was paired with Johnathan as the pair tied the knot upon first meeting one another.
But following the series, she admitted that their discussion surrounding her body image whilst it aired had left her ‘impacted’.
Johnathan could be seen saying that he didn’t like women to have ‘big, horse legs’ during the show – which sparked controversy both amongst the stars and the public watching.
Rachel said after the show: ‘With the whole weight thing, and I hate using this term, but the “horse legs” comment, it was just a bit hard for me because then it started a discussion online about me and my weight and the way that I look’.
‘People would say things like, “Well, she is a bit chubby,” and that’s a bit difficult,’ she admitted.
Continuing: ‘I’m like, “Oh my gosh, I’m size 10, I’m a really normal size,” so that must be hard for other women seeing those comments too.’
But Rachel herself was also accused of body-shaming after Amy Christopher, who appeared in the 2021 series, claimed she and co-star Adrian Sanderson laughed about fat-shaming comments about her on a live stream.
Sophie and Adrian both responded publicly, saying they were not aware of the comments taking place and condemned the fact they were made.

Sophie said: ‘I am not one to comment on situations that much, but when it’s about body image I absolutely will be there. I was made aware of some comments made on lives, and no one should have to go through that.
‘I know exactly how it feels which makes it worse. I was called chubby and fat throughout the show. Whatever someone’s intentions were, there was a conversation around my body type on the show. I’ve had that backlash and I know how it feels.
‘It’s a very painful thing to have to deal with, and it’s a very sensitive topic. I don’t condone any behaviour that’s aimed towards anyone, anyone that comments on someone’s body online is horrific.
‘Who is anyone to comment on anyone’s size? It’s so difficult, because there was a situation where someone said what their preferences were and now that’s being used where people are compared and people’s body sizes are talked about. I never wanted to be a part of that.

‘I would never want anything like that near or on my page, I like to have a positive platform. Body image is something very sensitive to a lot of people and should not be talked about.’
Adrian also responded on his Stories, saying: ‘I’m not exactly sure what was said, it was in the comments on the live.
‘I’ve asked for screen recordings so I’m able to see who said it and I can block them from Instagram. I wish Marilyse had told me at the time so I would have been able to shut it down.
‘I will never condone this hate online, and I hope we can continue to be kind in the future.’
Daily Mail contacted representatives for Sophie Brown, Adrian Sanderson and Amy Christophers for further comment at the time.
