ITV has pulled the plug on new episodes of The Chase for at least a year – and it could spell big changes for host Bradley Walsh, who’s now tipped for a glittering turn on Strictly Come Dancing.
The long-running quiz favourite, a teatime staple for 17 years, won’t film again until next April as the broadcaster tightens its purse strings in the wake of pandemic losses.
But while Bradley may be lining up a move to the ballroom, it’s bad news for the show’s brainy stars. Insiders say Chasers including Mark “The Beast” Labbett, Anne “The Governess” Hegerty and Paul “The Sinnerman” Sinha are feeling the pinch – as they’re only paid per episode.
