Inside Soap Awards’ boozy after party as EastEnders and Emmerdale stars celebrate wins

The Inside Soap Awards were back last night – with the biggest stars from the likes of Emmerdale, Coronation Street, EastEnders, and Hollyoaks all coming together to celebrate a monumental year on soap.

The cast of Casualty and Waterloo Road were also in attendance as some of the biggest soap stars celebrated their wins at a star-studded event in Piccadilly, London.

As well as the Best Soap win for Coronation Street, there were also awards for Jack P Shepherd (David Platt) who won Best Comic Performance, and Lisa Swain star Vicky Myers scooped Best Actress accolade. Vicky and Alison King also won Best Partnership for their portrayal of Swain and Carla’s love story.

Best Villain went to evil Nish Panesar, played by Navin Chowdhry, and fresh from his NTAs win, Steve McFadden won Best Actor for his portrayal of Phil Mitchell in the BBC soap. Laura Dodington, who plays Nicola Mitchell, won Best Newcomer.

Best Young Performer went to Amelia Flanagan, who plays April Windsor on Emmerdale and James Bye – who starred as Martin Fowler on EastEnders for decades – took home Best Exit.

Coronation Street won Best Storyline for Mason’s death and Abi’s PTSD whilst the harrowing limousine crash in Emmerdale, which claimed three lives this February, won Best Showstopper.
