It’s official — Emmerdale favourite Michael Parr has become a father for the first time. The actor, 39, best known as Ross Barton on the long-running ITV soap, has welcomed a baby daughter with his girlfriend Isabelle Du Plessis, and the pair couldn’t look happier.

Michael shared tender hospital snaps beaming as he cradled his newborn before taking her home for the very first time. Meanwhile, Isabelle took to Instagram to announce the news to fans and reveal their daughter’s name.
She captioned her heartfelt post:
“Welcome to the world Suzie Rose Parr.”

Wrapped in a custom blanket stitched with the words “Baby Parr”, the little one was also introduced to the family dog — marking her very first day at home.
Co-Stars Flood Them With Love
Michael’s soap family was quick to react. Bradley Riches, who plays Lewis Barton, commented: “Love you! X”, while Joe Gill (Finn Barton) added: “Amazing.” Shebz Miah, known for playing Kammy Hadiq, shared dove and star emojis in support.
A Love Story and New Chapter

Michael previously revealed his romance with Isabelle last October, keeping her identity private at first before confirming their relationship. In March, the couple announced they were expecting with a series of sweet photos showing Isabelle’s growing bump in a red floral dress, while Michael proudly posed with his hand on her stomach.
Isabelle captioned those shots: “In our Mum & Dad era.”
Now, just months later, the pair are overjoyed to finally welcome their baby girl into the world.

Photos from the hospital also show the newborn sleeping peacefully in an adorable animal onesie and bear-eared hat, with Isabelle smiling lovingly at her daughter.
From Soap Villain to Family Man

Michael Parr has been a fan favourite on Emmerdale since first appearing as Ross Barton in 2013. Known for his troubled love life and a shocking acid attack storyline that saw his character spiral into depression, Ross became one of the show’s most complex figures.
Although Michael departed in 2018, he confessed he grew restless just two months later, and he reprised the role at the end of 2024.
Of his big return, Michael said:
“I’m over the moon to be back. Ross is a character I’m extremely fond of and I can’t wait for audiences to see what’s next. One thing’s for sure — fireworks are coming.”
But for now, the actor has stepped into his most important role yet: fatherhood.
