Our Yorkshire Farm favourite Reuben Owen hosted a Christmas celebration in the newest episode of Reuben Owen: Christmas in the Dales, which aired on Tuesday evening.
During the seasonal special, the 21-year-old and his girlfriend Jess shared a major moment in their relationship — spending their first Christmas together — something viewers had been eager to see unfold. The pair recently celebrated their one-year anniversary in October, making the occasion even more meaningful.
Reuben first rose to fame on the hit Channel 5 documentary Our Yorkshire Farm, which followed life at Ravenseat Farm with parents Amanda and Clive and their nine children: Raven, Miles, Edith, Violet, Sidney, Annas, Clementine, and Nancy.
Although the family series ended in 2022 following Amanda and Clive’s split, Reuben has continued his success with his own programme Reuben Owen: Life in the Dales, building a strong following of his own.
In the festive episode, the young couple went a step further by organising a Christmas party at Jess’s family farm — a heartfelt thank-you to everyone who supported them throughout the year.
Before the celebration could begin, however, there was work to be done. Reuben, alongside colleagues Sonny and Capper and Jess’s father David, took on a significant barn renovation — racing against the clock to finish ahead of the Christmas festivities.
In true rustic fashion, the pair also raised turkey chicks for their first Christmas together. But the project came with unexpected drama, as the birds escaped and had to be rounded up — adding a chaotic twist to the otherwise romantic preparations.
Reflecting on the milestone, Reuben told Jess: “This is our second Christmas together, darling!” to which Jess replied: “Yeah, it will be, won’t it?” They exchanged light-hearted comments, with Reuben remarking on how quickly time had passed and Jess agreeing.
When asked what she hoped for this Christmas, Jess admitted she wasn’t sure as she “didn’t really need anything.” Reuben, meanwhile, was less hesitant — wishing for an articulated wrap and jokingly hinting he’d quite like another digger.
Back in October, Reuben celebrated their anniversary with a touching Instagram post in which he wrote: “Officially one year of loving you @jessica.ellwood1. Love you so much #lovemygirlfriend #sobeutiful,” accompanied by heart emojis.
Jess shared her own tribute, writing: “We have made so many amazing memories together, I love you so much xxx.”
Fans of the couple were quick to congratulate them on their milestone, calling them “a perfect couple,” and praising their bond. Some viewers even said they hope to see more of the pair on television, describing them as “fun, relaxed and interesting to watch.”
Others offered similar sentiments: “Lovely photos and a lovely couple,” one wrote, while another added: “Here’s to many more years together.”
