Wearing a sharp navy suit and smart black shoes, Warwick – who has a whole host of TV and film roles on his CV – met the prince at Windsor Castle as he shook hands with the future king, who handed the actor his prestigious medal. Warwick was joined for the celebration by his daughter, Annabelle, 27, and son, Harrison, 21, who proudly watched their beloved dad receiving his “very dignified honour”.

The Harry Potter star described being awarded with an OBE as a “a quiet recognition” of the work that he’s done. Speaking to Times Radio, Warwick said: “It’s a very dignified honour. It’s not like a BAFTA – it’s not big and shiny and show-bizzy.

“It’s a quiet recognition of something that I’ve done in the past, my contribution to drama or entertainment and the charity work I’ve done.” He continued: “I didn’t do any of what I do to get an award. I just do it because I enjoy doing it.”

Warwick co-founded a charity called Little People UK in 2012 to support people with dwarfism and their families. Warwick set the charity up with his late wife, Samantha, who tragically died in 2024. In February 2025, Warwick was given the BAFTA Fellowship, which he dedicated to Samantha.

Speaking at the time, he said: “This is the best thing that’s ever happened to me and I’ve been in Star Wars.” He added: “She (Samantha) was always so supportive of my career, encouraging me to grab every opportunity with both hands.”

In a touching statement released after Samantha’s death, Warwick said his late wife’s passing had “left a huge hole in our lives” and paid tribute to his “favourite human”. He described Sammy, as he called her, as his “most trusted confidant and an ardent supporter of everything I did in my career”.

Warwick added that he felt like he could achieve anything with his wife by his side and that it felt like he had a “superpower”. In 2018, Sammy was struck down by sepsismeningitis and Strep B infections. In support of charity, The UK Sepsis Trust, Warwick retold 100 emotional stories of people affected by the condition in a heartfelt video, sharing: “The UK Sepsis Trust is a charity that is close to my heart, and I was made more aware of the condition through my acting career.

“It’s astonishing how many people are affected by sepsis on a day-to-day basis, and I’m honoured to help spread the message to ensure as many people as possible know there is a place to go for support and guidance.”
