🌸 ā€œFacing Breast Cancer Head-On: My Journey, My Messageā€ šŸŽ„ Today, I’m sharing something incredibly personal — news I never imagined I’d have to share publicly. A few weeks ago, I discovered a small lump in my breast. At first, I ignored it, thinking it might be nothing, but deep down, something told me to pay attention. Over time, I realized how important it is to listen to our bodies. I booked a check-up, and after a biopsy, I was diagnosed with breast cancer. The diagnosis was a shock, but I’m incredibly grateful that it was detected very early. I recently had a lumpectomy to remove the lump, and the results showed that my lymph nodes are clear. I’ll undergo a short course of radiotherapy as a precaution, but my doctors are confident in a full recovery. Sharing this is not easy, but I want to speak up for everyone out there. Breast cancer can be detected early, and early detection saves lives. If you notice anything unusual, don’t wait. If you’re due a mammogram, an ultrasound, or any kind of screening — get it done. Our health is precious, and we owe it to ourselves to be proactive. I want to thank the extraordinary medical teams, my family, and friends who have supported me through this journey. Your love and encouragement mean more than words can express. To anyone reading this, please take care of yourself — check, monitor, and act. Don’t ignore the signals your body gives you. šŸ’•

Davina McCall shares breast cancer diagnosis

Davina said: ā€œHello. I’m talking about this because I think it might help someone and this is what I always do.

ā€œI just wanted to tell you that I have had breast cancer.

ā€œI found a lump a few weeks ago and it came and went. But then, I was working on The Masked Singer and Lorraine Kelly had put signs on the back of all the doors saying check your breasts, so every time I went for a wee I did that, and it was still there.

ā€œThen one morning I saw it in the mirror and thought, I’m going to get that looked at. I had a biopsy. I found out it was indeed breast cancer and I had it taken out in a lumpectomy nearly three weeks ago. And the margins, they take out a little bit extra, the margins are clear. It was very, very small so I got it very, very early, which is incredibly lucky.ā€

Treatment plan shared

Davina continued, revealing she’ll now undergo radiotherapy.

ā€œI am so relieved to have had it removed and to know that it hasn’t spread. My lymph nodes are clear, I didn’t have any removed, and all I’m going to do now is have five days of radiotherapy in January as kind of an insurance policy. And then I am on my journey to try and stop it ever coming back.ā€

ā€˜I was very angry’

She then gave her thanks to everyone at the Royal Marsden Hospital. Davina also thanked her family, ā€œher brilliant kids and an extra special thanks toĀ Michaelā€, her fiancĆ©.

Davina then said: ā€œIt’s been a lot. I was very angry when I found out. But I let go of that and I feel in a much more positive place now.

ā€œI think my message is, get checked if you are worried. Check yourself regularly. If you are due a mammogram, then get it done. I have dense breasts and I had a mammogram in August and I was postponing the ultrasound, I didn’t have time to do it. Don’t do that, get the ultrasound. And thanks for watching and I’m sending you all a massive hug.ā€
